Tips for Sourcing Media Talent

  • Build and maintain a social networking pipelines for job postings.
  • Include information on your company's culture and social responsibility initiatives in your job postings - candidates are seeking vocations, as much as jobs!
  • Ensure mandatory criteria (hard skills) are well reflected to facilitate candidate self-screening.
  • Avoid mass postings which produce massive administration.
  • Add clearly articulated steps of the application, recruitment and selection process in your job postings, which will reduce administration
  • Each posting typically attracts 100+ applicants, of which 10-15% are actually qualified, and 2-5% who really want the job.
  • Ask candidates at all levels to make "a business case" for their candidacy ... this will ensure your hire has done their homework on their goals, the role, and your mandate
